Trish was enjoying her holiday travelling amongst the fishes. Then she heard the clunk of a rock against her machine and her face mask was ripped off. She had been set upon by mermaids keen to obtain vengeance for her crimes against the Mer people. No air! She gasped for air but there was only water. Her instinct was to swim upwards but the mermaids held her back. They were much better swimmers than she was and she had a heavy tank on her back. Trish had worked hard for her future. Was her life to be snuffed out before any of her dreams were realised? It seemed so senseless. She passed out. When she came to one of the mermaids was propelling her through the sea whilst the other held her oxygen supply to her mouth, ready to deprive her again should there be any resistance. There was no resistance. After the terror of nearly drowning she co-operated fully on her short trip to the Mer city.
